Prof. UAM dr hab. Małgorzata Borowiak – the laureate of prestigious Foundation for Polish Science TEAM Programme

Prof. UAM dr hab. Małgorzata Borowiak was awarded the prestigious Foundation for Polish Science TEAM Programme fellowship for establishing the TEAM research group. She was ranked first in the competition (http://www.fnp.org.pl/grantobiorcy-team-konkurs-22016/). Among tens of projects, Prof. Borowiak project received the most attention in a multi-stage evaluation. It is entitled:  „The use of the diversity of pancreatic progenitor cells to form human endocrine cells of the pancreas” and intended to obtain the insulin producing cells. Prof. UAM dr hab. Małgorzata Borowiak commenced her work in the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Faculty of Biology, at AMU in the expiring year and has already managed to get two grants: POLONEZ (NCN) and currently TEAM. Our new young researcher came back from USA after a long stay at Harvard University in Cambridge, and then heading her team in Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Her interests include an extremely dynamically developing subject of cell biology – the stem cells – their formation and application capabilities. We cordially congratulate Prof. UAM dr hab.
