About us

Our researches are mainly focused on biology and pathology of RNA. We are studying some dominant genetic diseases caused by expanded triplet repeats in which toxic RNA that sequester specific RNA-binding proteins play a crucial role in molecular pathomechanism. Main aims of our researches are (i) better understanding of molecular basis of myotonic dystrophy (DM) and fragile X associated tremor-ataxia syndrome (FXTAS); (ii) characterization of RNA-binding proteins interacting with toxic RNAs in DM and FXTAS; (iii) determination of efficient therapeutic strategies targeting toxic RNA containing expanded repeats using RNA interference tools, antisense oligonucleotides or small compounds.
